The internet is scattered with entertaining content. Social media platforms have been extremely effective in capturing the attention of lay people. We thought, however, that content throughout social media wasn’t enriching people in a specific sense. On one hand, we thought content creator’s approach to grabbing attention was to do extreme acts (a go-big-or-go-home approach), and while this method does generate higher viewership, we felt people’s curiosity for others’ insane excursions appeared to create a culture of tolerance to uselessly funny content. On the other hand, we thought those content creators who were active in usefully entertaining content within the realm of education, advice, tutorials, and the current state of affairs had casted a “Listen when I’m speaking” barrier between itself and its viewers. And to be honest, live streaming was supposed to get at this, but when the viewers in chat are just referenced to “chat,” we ought to really wonder what has content creation truly amounted to in viewer’s lives?
The real purpose of MangoStreamsz is to create thought-provokingly interactive content, where the viewers not only think through our experiences with us but also participate in it. For viewers to be acknowledged as best as possible, and to create the kind of vibes that calls back their memories to a time they’ve felt most alive. Maybe viewers will exit our contents with something purposeful in mind, leading their thinking and conversations in a positive and powerful direction. At least, we hope, that our viewers feel like they can go out there and change the world, having fun doing so.
